C & W Embroidery, Inc., History
C & W Embroidery, Inc. is a contract embroidery firm founded in Tupelo, Miss., in 1990 to provide embellishment for the garment industry. At its inception, we also owned a business that specialized in providing advertising specialty products, including company logos embroidered onto caps, jackets and shirts.
In an effort to have our company provide quality products with superb embroidery in a timely manner, it became evident that we needed to do our own embroidery. C & W Embroidery was begun when we purchased one 12-head embroidery machine. Within the first six months of operation, we realized that we also needed to have control over the creation of the designs we had to sew onto these garments. As a result, we purchased a computer digitizing program and the hardware necessary to create our own digitized tapes for the logos that would be loaded into the machine.
From a single machine, C & W Embroidery has grown over the last 17 years to a total of 31 embroidery machines with 360 heads. C & W Embroidery has evolved to become a significant entity in the garment embellishment industry, ranking in the top 10 privately-owned contract embroidery companies in the United States.
In 1998, C & W Embroidery relocated to Rienzi, MS, where we purchased a manufacturing plant, which is now 45,000 square feet. Our clients include Nike's Golf Greens Division, which represents the distribution of embroidered garments world-wide for over 4,000 country clubs, military bases, restaurants, major golf tournaments, and major universities throughout the U.S.
C & W receives golf gloves from our clients along with custom medallions with logos for golf courses, country clubs, and golfing tournaments. These medallions are applied to the appropriate gloves, packaged and shipped directly to our customers. With our expertise in service for shirts, caps, shorts, and jackets, we have purchased a golf bag embroidery machine that gives us the ability to embroider golf logos and personalization on finished golf bags, as well as golf gloves, for high-end, upscale golf resorts.
Additional services include distribution of American-made embellished garments for Wal-Mart stores throughout the U.S, and Walt Disney companies, primarily Walt Disney World, Disneyland, and the Disney Cruise Line.
C & W Embroidery has assumed the role of direct shipper. Previously, all embroidered goods were returned to the Nike distribution center in Memphis, Tenn., where they were shipped to customers. In an effort to decrease time and improve service to Nike's customers, C & W Embroidery began packaging and shipping all orders from the Rienzi location.
C & W's ultimate success comes from our ability to hire skilled, efficient managers who have implemented our strong demand for high quality standards. We are 100% effective in filling each order on time, at the quoted price, and with on-time delivery. The industry standard for embroidery seconds and rejections is 2%. C & W consistently maintains a rejection/seconds rate of .5% (half of 1%!). This is unheard of for our industry.
